VHF Radio Operator Endorsement

Cloudbase facilitation and administration for the SAFA VHF Radio Operator Endorsement pathway.

The endorsement covers the knowledge and practical radio skills required for eligible SAFA pilots to operate on applicable aeronautical VHF frequencies while flying.

Course process

1. Complete the required VHF radio-operator learning material.
2. Successfully complete the required knowledge assessment.
3. Complete the practical demonstration component in person.
4. Cloudbase completes the applicable endorsement administration once all requirements have been met.

Practical component

The practical assessment includes radio setup and operation, basic fault finding, microphone technique, listening skills and appropriate radio calls, including operations around non-towered aerodromes where applicable.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet SAFA's current eligibility requirements for the endorsement, including holding the required pilot qualification and being able to communicate adequately in English for aeronautical radio operations.

After payment, Cloudbase will provide the instructions required to begin the learning component and arrange the practical component.
