Lombok.
Done properly.
A season of small-group pilot-development tours based at Sky Lancing on Lombok's southern coast — built around repetition, coaching and a lot of flying.
One flying home.
Choose your
week in Lombok.
Each Cloudbase Lombok tour is an individual seven-day experience. Choose the period that works for you and explore availability below. Join us for as many weeks as you like to capitalise on back-to-back progression.
Come home a
better pilot.
The flying is only part of the reason we go. The real opportunity is having a full week to identify what you want to improve, work on it with experienced instructors, and put the feedback straight back into your flying.
Your goals shape the week.
Coaching is shaped by the conditions, your experience and the goals you bring with you. Specific sessions are optional, and not every skill will be relevant to every pilot.
Advanced launches
Refine launch technique, including Cobra-style launches where appropriate.
Precision top landings
Develop repeatable approaches, accuracy and control with coaching and radio guidance.
Ground handling
Improve efficiency and wing control, recognising the direct relationship with in-flight performance.
Advanced soaring
Develop strategies and decision-making for dynamic coastal soaring environments.
XC + weather
Build understanding through relaxed, interactive discussion around weather and cross-country theory.
Confidence + decisions
Use repetition and feedback to consolidate skills, improve consistency and make better flying decisions.
Rating progression may be assessed where appropriate. Progressions and endorsements are based on demonstrated competence, consistency and sound decision-making. They are earned, not guaranteed, and remain dependent on individual readiness and conditions.
There is a rhythm
to the week.
We organise the moving parts so you can concentrate on flying. Briefings, coaching, local logistics and the social side of the trip all form part of the experience.
Start properly.
An extensive first-day briefing gets everyone aligned on the site, operations, expectations and how the week works.
Brief. Plan. Fly.
Interactive morning briefings cover conditions, the day ahead and individual flying goals.
Support when it matters.
Instructors and support crew are there for guidance, safety oversight, coaching and the practical details that keep the day moving.
Review the day.
Debrief what happened, what changed and what you want to take into the next session.
Lombok is part of it.
Meals, scooters, downtime and the social side of travelling with a small group are part of the Cloudbase experience too.

Arrive current.
Leave sharper.
These weeks are built for qualified pilots who can already manage themselves and their equipment safely. We start from there and use the week to consolidate, refine and progress.
Developing pilots are welcome — but in this context, developing means a current PG3 pilot consolidating skills and building experience, rather than learning first principles.
You have solid ground handling skills
You have enough wing control to manage your equipment confidently and safely on launch.
You can independently launch and land
You can launch and land safely without requiring first-principles instruction or constant intervention.
You have your own equipment
You can manage and operate your own glider, harness and associated flying equipment appropriately.
You're comfortable at unfamiliar sites
You are ready to fly unfamiliar sites and respond appropriately to variable conditions with instructor guidance.
You exercise sound decision-making
You arrive current enough to make sensible pilot decisions, communicate clearly and take responsibility for your flying.
You're ready for coaching
You want structured flying, feedback and repeated opportunities to consolidate rather than simply being guided around a destination.
This is not ab-initio training.
PG2 and ab-initio training are not offered on these tours. You should arrive able to launch and land independently, manage your own equipment, and make sensible decisions in unfamiliar flying environments. Our instructors provide guidance, safety oversight and coaching — they are not there to replace those foundations.
What you need to know.
01 Accommodation Where the group stays.
Accommodation information is provided to booked pilots as part of the pre-tour planning process.
02 Getting to Lombok Arrival timing and transfers.
Plan to arrive before the tour begins so you are settled and ready for the first-day briefing. Current arrival guidance and transfer arrangements are supplied to booked pilots before travel.
03 Accommodation Your base for the week.
We use designated group accommodation so pilots are based together and the logistics remain simple. Current hotel options, room arrangements and pricing are confirmed during the booking process.
04 Getting around Local transport during the week.
Scooters are the practical way to move around locally and are an important part of the week. Local transport support is coordinated where required.
05 Flying equipment What you need to bring.
Bring your own suitable glider and harness. A serviceable reserve is mandatory. You must be able to manage and operate your own equipment independently.
06 Radio + communication UHF is mandatory.
A suitable UHF radio programmed for the required SAFA channels is mandatory. Exact programming and communication details are supplied before the tour.
07 Site fees + local costs Small costs paid locally.
Some site access, scooter, food and other personal/local expenses sit outside the Cloudbase tour fee. Current amounts are confirmed before departure rather than publishing figures that may change.
08 What Cloudbase handles The organisation around the flying.
We coordinate the tour structure, local relationships, flying-site operations, instructor availability, group communication and the practical support that keeps the week running.
The flying is the reason.
Lombok is the bonus.
There is plenty of life around the flying. Southern Lombok gives the week its own rhythm — coast, scooters, shared meals, downtime and a small group of pilots living the trip together.
Fly hard when it's on. Slow down when it isn't. The week has room for both.
What pilots say about Cloudbase.
Experiences from people we've trained, coached, travelled and flown with.
Your week
is waiting.
Seven days. Nine pilots. One flying home on the southern coast of Lombok.
