EN-C two-liner for experienced cross-country pilots
The VOLT 5 is AirDesign’s true EN-C two-liner: a lightweight performance wing aimed at experienced pilots who want two-line efficiency, rear-riser control and strong accelerated performance without moving into EN-D.
Cloudbase perspective
The key reason to look at the VOLT 5 is not simply that it is “faster”. It is the combination of two-liner architecture, EN-C certification and a relatively light build for serious XC and competition-style flying. It belongs with pilots who are already comfortable managing higher-performance equipment and regularly fly enough to maintain that skill set. Pilots considering it primarily because they want a lightweight wing should also look at the lower-category SOAR 2; those seeking the next performance step can compare the HERO 2.
What changed from the previous generation?
AirDesign reports improved performance at full speed and improved floating/climbing behaviour in lifting air. The VOLT 5 uses double-coated Dominico DOKDO-10DSF on both surfaces, full-chord Nitinol rods and reinforced nose patches. Standard 13 mm Aramid risers can be replaced with optional Superlight Dyneema risers, saving approximately 110 g.

Sail: Dominico DOKDO-10DSF double-coated 25 g/m² top and bottom; Dominico DOKDO-204432FM / Skytex 27 hard ribs. Lines: Edelrid 8001/U and 9200 series. Risers: Cousin 13 mm Aramid; optional Edelrid Taurus 3.7 mm Dyneema. Connections: 4.3 mm JOO-TECH maillons or AirDesign Softlinks.

Rucksack is not included as standard. For SRS competition use, AirDesign specifies a speed limiter between A and B risers; SRS risers can be requested as an option with a new wing. Contact Cloudbase for configuration and sizing.
