The DONUT SL 90 brings AirDesign’s hybrid reserve concept into a substantially lighter and smaller package for hike-and-fly, travel and other weight-sensitive setups. It combines square-reserve stability characteristics with straightforward round-style packing principles.

Cloudbase perspective

At 810 g including its container and 2.5 L published volume, the SL 90 makes a meaningful difference in a genuinely lightweight harness system. The trade-off decision should still start with correct certified loading and container compatibility rather than weight alone. For higher suspended loads, the SL 110 is a separate design rather than simply an enlarged SL 90.

Technical specifications

AirDesign states that it has also checked DONUT reserve performance following repeated clear-water landings. Correct inspection, drying and repacking procedures remain essential after any water landing.
