Hybrid square-round emergency parachute
The DONUT combines characteristics of square and round reserve designs: pendulum stability and efficient descent with straightforward packing. Side vents contribute to stability after deployment, while the hybrid shape allows useful projected area without unnecessary packed bulk.
Cloudbase perspective
The DONUT 100 is the lighter-capacity standard DONUT for systems with a certified suspended load up to 100 kg. At 1.3 kg it remains relatively light without moving to the more specialised materials and compactness of the DONUT SL range.
Reserve sizing should be based on the complete suspended load and compatibility with the harness container—not simply pilot body weight. Cloudbase can help confirm the appropriate reserve and container combination before purchase.

Current packing system
AirDesign updated the standard DONUT in September 2025 with integrated packing loops intended to hold the canopy panels more consistently during packing.
