The STEP X sits at the sport end of EN-B, combining a relatively light construction with the durability and structure required for regular cross-country use. Supair positions it for experienced recreational pilots progressing in distance flying rather than as an entry-level EN-B.

Cloudbase perspective

The useful distinction here is that STEP X is light without being an ultralight specialist wing. It makes sense for pilots who want one EN-B+ for XC, travel and hike-and-fly while retaining more conventional durability. It is a logical progression from lower EN-B wings such as LEAF rather than a shortcut for pilots who are not yet ready for a sport-B.
