Ultralight single-surface run-and-fly wing
Starting at just over 1 kg, the RONIN is AirDesign’s minimalist single-surface wing for pilots who prioritise extremely low weight, tiny pack volume and fast run-and-fly missions. Compared with the UFO, it reduces ribs, lines and nose structure, uses lightweight double-coated fabric and is designed to fly at higher loadings.
Cloudbase perspective
The RONIN is a specialist tool, not simply the lightest choice for ordinary recreational flying. Size and loading change its character substantially: the larger sizes can sit within EN-B flight-test ranges, while the smaller 12 and 14 carry EN-C flight-test certification and become progressively more dynamic as loading increases. For pilots primarily seeking a forgiving lightweight single-surface wing, the UFO deserves comparison; the RONIN is for missions where minimum carried weight and a faster, more dynamic result justify the trade-off.

Take-off weight is total flight mass including pilot, glider, harness, reserve and equipment. EN 926-2 refers to flight testing; the extended EN 926-1 range is load/shock tested rather than an extension of the flight-test classification.
