AirDesign’s professional tandem platform
The RIDE 4 is built as a working tandem wing rather than simply a scaled-up solo glider. AirDesign developed it around the repetitive demands that matter to commercial and instructional tandem pilots: inflation, early lift, manageable brake pressure, usable trim range, flare authority and durability across a wide passenger-weight range.

For tandem work, the useful question is how a wing behaves over an entire operating day, not how impressive one isolated specification looks. The RIDE 4’s two sizes cover overlapping but different all-up-weight ranges, so choosing between the 40 and 43 should reflect your typical pilot/passenger combination and operating conditions. Main Design Concepts - RIDE 4
- Short Line Concept (SLC): reduced line length for quicker inflation, handling response and flare timing.
- New arc: designed to improve turn initiation and structural cohesion.
- 4-line concept: supports the profile and broad usable speed range.
- Inboard winglets: intended to improve roll behaviour and spiral recovery characteristics while retaining dynamic handling.
- Professional durability: coated cloth, nose protection, Nitinol rods, sheathed lines and an internal structure designed for repeated use.

Sail: Dominico Dokdo-30 DMF 43 g/m² top; Dominico N20 DMF / 2044 32 PS 32 g/m² bottom; Dominico 30 DFM / 2044 32 FM 32 g/m² ribs, V-ribs and straps.
Lines: Liros DSL / PPSL upper lines, Liros PPSL middle lines, Edelrid 2 7343 mains. Risers: 19 mm / 12 mm Cousin Trestec Aramid PES.
