The DONUT combines characteristics of square and round reserve designs: pendulum stability and efficient descent with straightforward packing. Side vents contribute to stability after deployment, while the hybrid shape allows useful projected area without unnecessary packed bulk.

The DONUT 120 increases certified maximum load to 120 kg while retaining a compact 3.78 L published volume. Its 4.90 m/s published sink rate is specifically the value at maximum load; it should not be confused with the obsolete blanket 4.6 m/s claim found in older product copy.
